WHAT WE DO

Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler Manufacturer

As a leading circulating fluidized bed boiler manufacturing company, Industrial Boilers America designs them to handle the demands of industrial operations, especially power plants.

Our engineers can produce the right circulating fluidized bed boiler for your industry at a competitive price and delivery.

Over the past decade, many innovations have helped with fuel combustion methods in industrial boilers.

Fluidized bed boilers play a vital role, due to the structure of the fluidized bed which can be divided into bubbling fluidized bed boilers (BFB) or circulating fluidized bed boilers (CFB).

They’re also known for the direct conversion of chemical energy found in fuel and used for thermal energy. Electricity can indirectly be generated from the generated hot steam.

We work with our customers to find the design that works best for their application with an aim to provide cost savings that helps our customers get a quicker return on their investment.

What is a Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler?

A circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler is a type of fluidized bed combustion that utilizes a recirculating loop to increase an even greater amount of efficiency for combustion.

The circulating fluidized bed boiler combustion uses all kinds of solid fuels, such as biomass and refuse-derived fuel (RDF) to produce clean and efficient energy.

This system achieves a lower emission of pollutants as it absorbs more than 95% of the pollutants before it’s emitted into the air. Fuel flexibility is the focal point for this system as it contributes to fossil fuel and CO2 emissions reduction by using alternative renewable fuels. Fuel flexibility is now more critical than ever for new plants to ensure that they maximize inexpensive fuels and mitigate prices soaring and supply chain issues. The CFB is the only industrial boiler technology that provides both high-efficiency combustion and vast fuel flexibility while working at the same time.

Using fluid combustion technology can bring many benefits to not only your business but the planet. One of the most important benefits is the emission of dinitrogen oxide into the atmosphere being significantly lowered due to the lower temperature in the fluidized bed chamber (about 860°C). Introducing circulating fluidized bed boilers in coal power plants can be used to replace coal, changing from fossil fuel to renewable energy.

Also, due to the fluidized bed sorbent binding sulfur from fuel, a reduction is emitted to the atmosphere of sulfur oxides. This technology allows for the combustion of low-quality fuels with a much more simplified carburizing system.

OUR CAPABILITIES

Types of Fluidized Bed Boilers

Bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) Boiler

In a bubbling fluidized bed boiler, the boiler's velocity of the combustion air is lowered enough that the fluidized particles remain in the lower furnace.

Circulating fluidized bed (CFB) Boiler

In a circulating fluidized bed boiler, the boiler's velocity is much greater and the hot particles are circulated through the entire range of the combustion zone. This boiler system is much more suitable for larger boiler load ranges and systems.

frequently asked questions

A circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler is a type of fluidized bed combustion that utilizes a recirculating loop to increase combustion efficiency even further. It also allows for the combustion of a wider range of fuels, including low-grade coal, biomass, and waste materials.
CFB boilers use a fluidized bed combustion process, which provides numerous benefits, including enhanced fuel flexibility, improved combustion efficiency, decreased pollutants’ emissions, and the capacity to capture and recycle combustion byproducts such as ash and limestone.
They are used in various industries, including power generation, pulp and paper, chemical processing, cement production, and waste-to-energy plants. They are particularly suitable for industries requiring flexible and efficient combustion of diverse fuel types or those seeking to minimize environmental impact.
Choosing the appropriate CFB boiler entails evaluating factors like steam capacity, operating pressure and temperature, fuel quality and type, emissions criteria, space limitations, and budgetary constraints.. Consulting with experienced boiler engineers or manufacturers can help identify the most suitable solution for your specific needs and requirements.
Consistent maintenance is crucial to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of CFB boilers. Maintenance tasks may include cleaning heat exchange surfaces, inspecting and repairing refractory materials, calibrating combustion controls, testing emissions control devices, and monitoring fluidized bed performance.
